Chinese Herbal Medicine

Camden Acupuncture patients enjoy access to a full custom Chinese herbal pharmacy with over 325 individual herbs. Herbal medicine is particularly effective when formulated for each individual and the specific causes of each symptom as well as the underlying root issues. Many individual herbs and herbal formulas have been used continuously for several thousand years, with written references dating back as far as 3,000 to 5,000 years in the western and Chinese herbal traditions, respectively.

Chinese herbal formulas are safe and effective. Side effects are extremely rare when taken as prescribed. We only work with the highest quality Chinese herbs that have been tested to be free of contaminants and heavy metals. Our supplier, Crane Herbs is known for its rigorous quality control standards.

We recommend herbs to many of our patients because they can increase the effectiveness of acupuncture treatments and decrease required treatment time. Both the National Institutes for Health and the World Health Organization recognize Traditional Chinese Medicine’s ability to treat more than 43 commonly encountered clinical disorders.
